The Bible constantly refers to God as Our Father. I feel this is because of the deep never ending desire of God for us to view Him as a loving father as opposed to a tyrannical master. I have a hard time believing that any master would die for one of their slaves...but I know that a good father wouldn't hesitate to lay down his life for his children.
